Chicane, A.K.A Nick Bracegirdle, returned to the UK music scene in July 2009 (after a three year break) with ‘Poppiholla’, the hot reworking of Icelandic group Sigur Rós’ 2005 hit ‘Hoppipolla’. It is almost 13 years since Chicane’s debut single and classic Ibiza anthem ‘Offshore’ hit the UK charts at No.14 in December 1996.

Oh wow, this is actually so bad it deserves being recorded in the Encyclopaedia of Fail. Put aside the fact that they've taken a truly beautiful song and basically murdered it, even as a stand-alone dance track it's terrible. There's no build-up, no breakdown, just a tacky, clichéd beat hammering away relentlessly. This hurts my ears.

i think both are brilliant! I thing Sigúr Ros are geniuses for creating such a magnificent musical piece and I think chicane have made a really good version of it. I normally hate covers but i think they've interpreted the piece in their own style very well. and for people who dont like it simple....just dont listen to it! I somehow don't think you got onto this page by mistake!

I think it's brilliant. Leaves you with that warm uplifting feel which some music gives you. I don't care if people think it is so much worse than the original. It's just great to chill to and just overall a really nice angle on Sigúr Ros's version.

All those annoyed at chicane for 'ripping them off' need to chill out. This obviously isn't as good as the original, but I don't see what the problem is if chicane makes it into a stadium trance anthem.
