Beginnings (6:08)

Cover of The Chicago Story

From The Chicago Story and 56 other releases

A great example of how the band Chicago blends rock and roll and horns. This song features solos from both Jimmy Pankow on trombone (who does all of the brass arrangements) and Lee Loughnane on trumpet. The song was written by original member keyboardist Robert Lamm, and was a hit off of their debut album “Chicago Transit Authority” .

"the beginning of this song makes me want to skip fiercely and unashamedly through the park, arms swinging prominently and head earnestly tossing from side to side." I love this description.
