“3 Words” is the title song from the first solo album by British pop singer Cheryl Cole, featuring additional vocals and production from will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. The song was written by Cole and will.i.am with session guitarist George Pajon. It was released as the second single from her album, 3 Words.
“3 Words” serves as the opening track for the album of the same name. Cole has referred to “3 Words” as her favourite song on the record. She said the song was “totally different from anything I’ve done Girls Aloud] or liked before” and took its inspiration from Cole’s newly acquired love for dance music on the charts, especially David Guetta & Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over (feat. Kelly Rowland)”.
The song received its worldwide radio première on 13 October 2009 on BBC Radio 1’s The Chris Moyles Show.[4] Cole performed “3 Words” for the first time with will.i.am during her one-off special for ITV, Cheryl Cole’s Night In. The single was accompanied by the b-side
Boys, produced by Fraser T. Smith.
