About this album

Single White Female is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Chely Wright. Released in 1999 on MCA Nashville Records, it is also her highest selling album, having been certified gold by the RIAA. The album’s title track became Wright’s first and only Number One hit on the Billboard country charts. “It Was” peaked at #11 on the same chart, while “She Went Out for Cigarettes” failed to make Top 40. Also included on this album is “The Love That We Lost”, which Wright had previously recorded on her 1996 album Right in the Middle of It.
