Mr Charlie Duke, (Mr Duke) is a country singer/songwriter, born and bred in Snowdonia, North Wales, he cites many different influences through out his career.
At the age of 17 (2000) he left North Wales for London to join “prog” band “Elysium Fields” whom, he stayed with until 2003.
The following couple of years resulted in Duke hitch-hiking all aver Europe, meeting people, and reading 1950’s American “Beat” literature, which would have a profound effect, as did the music of that era.
Finally ready to record again, Mr Duke’s first solo album was released by “Earth Monkey Productions” in May 2007, entitled, “I can’t find my Keys!!”

Later in the same year, Duke released “Is this anti-folk”, a genre Duke had not long discovered, and was infactuated with, “It seems like the “Outlaw-Country” country genre in evolution, like Bob Dylan’s 1966 world tour, brutal, honest, and beautifully crafted, like the works of Townes Van Zandt, or Guy Clark, where the idea is the wonderful song, not the wonderful singer” *Mr Duke- Tequila Radio- 2009*.
In 2008, Mr Duke formed his backing band, known as “The Hoodlum Circus”, taken from a Hunter S Thompson book, “Hell’s Angels”.
This band consisted of Cristian “Amigo” Marcico (Drums) Josh “Yoshi” Webber (Bass) and Gareth “Macauly Crackpipe” Grant (Guitar). This band became known as “the Welsh Flaming Lips” *Tom Robinson-bbc 6music*
This band also had several rolling members, Simon Bartlett, and Jacob Powell, to name just two.
Following the inevitable implode of “The Hoodlum Circus”, Mr Duke retreated back to the hills of Snowdonia, where he recorded “Be There to Love you”, a country esq. album to be released by Blue Chartists on 03/03/2011.
