• Glemte 90-tallshelter: Jack

    13 Mar 2015, 15:42 by henning_poulsen

  • How to climb out of a deep, black hole (if only temporarily)

The monsters of doom, gloom and horror had me in a headlock for the entire day... But then something happened. A ray of light hit me. In the form of....:

Beautiful friends (too far away to smother with hugs, but still)

The Ramones - This wonderful band from heaven. Never fails...

Words from... - lifts me everytime.

Ministry - Started listening to them for the first time today. And I don't understand why it has taken me so fucking long. Their second album Land of Rape and Honey is an industrial masterpiece.

Peace, Love & Pitbulls - Playing their discography from start to finish beats any drug, legal, illegal or prescribed. What a fucking cleanser. There's no one like Thåström.

Charles Bukowski - He's like a warm blanket to pull up over your weary head.

    Thank you all.

It's been three months, but now I have returned. Returned to this, my very favourite journal segment.
Todays piece is by Charles Bukowski. The genius Charles Bukowski. One of my biggest literary heroes. Raw, yet warm. Angry, yet calm. Poetic, yet straightforward. And always emotional.
Here's a poem I just discovered. Love at first sight.

    No Leaders, Please

invent yourself and then reinvent yourself,
don't swim in the same slough.
invent yourself and then reinvent yourself
    and
stay out of the clutches of mediocrity.

invent yourself and then reinvent yourself,
change your tone and shape so often that they can
    never
    categorize you.

    reinvigorate yourself and
    accept what is
but only on the terms that you have invented
    and reinvented.

    be self-taught.

    and reinvent your life because you must;
    it is your life and
    its history
    and the present
    belong only to
    you.

    "My poems are only scratchings
    on the floor of a
    cage"
    - Charles Bukowski - eaten by butterflies

This man was a genius. The sun is hot.
  • The justification and enriching of our very existence through the majesty of song

I feel that I must take it upon myself to act as an interpreter, so that all might come to understand and gain from, both intellectually and spiritually, the complexly composed brilliance of this gem. Ke$ha has broken all molds manufactured by our oppressive, mundane society and wiped the slate clean once again for pop music. So much larger than this, she has unveiled the current state of social affairs within our culture for all the public to see, with such a renewing light of self-reflection, that to label it a wake-up call for our species would be disastrously under-representing the power of its contents.

For the good of my country and the sake of enriching its collective mind, in this journal I will dissect and put into context the theme and tone of Ke$ha's revolutionary piece, “TiK ToK”.

Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy [1]
Put my glasses on, I’m out the door - I’m gonna hit this city

  • Promotional shit / Amazing gig last night / Losers / Upcoming splits / Stuff

    28 Apr 2007, 13:53 by ron_zed

    Amazing gig last night:

Last night I went to a Melvins gig, supported by Big Businessand Porn ( AKA The Men of Porn \ Men of Porn).

    OMGF!!!

    That was one awesome gig.

after the show i caught up Tim Moss and gave him releases by our label, for him and all the other guys.
after that i just ran into all of the bands on the street, that was so fucking crazy!
every one around me went running to Buzzo, but i just walked aside Jarred Warren for a while and had a small chat with him.
    super cool.

    --------------------------------------------------------

    Upcoming Splits:

We had this idea of taking bands from different and remote locations, and bringing them together on releases that will spread their music to places they wouldn't have reach other way.

every band gets their copies and sells them in the local scene, and thus promoting every other band on the split.

    sweet idea!

anyhow, we didn't know which direction to go, so we decided to mix it up,
