For those who missed the reference: This song is a recounting of the climactic conversation between the Doctor and Davros in Journey's end. It's a little confusing because Charlie sings both sides of the conversation.

I think that the Cybermen and the Daleks are not only the antithesis of what we like to think of the Doctor as, but are actually a reflection of his Galifreeian form of humanity. I think he finds us fascinating because we can (not often) resist our baser instincts to conquer and horde in order to aid and defend. Galifreey is a planet where the primary species has elevated themselves into the same position that the likes of Davros and the Supreme Dalek have attempted to acheive. Think about how Rassilon (and all but 2 of the entire Council of Timelords) chose to destry the Universe in order for the Timelords to ascend into a higher being and allow all other beings to perish. Davros was no better or worse wiping the Universe of all life except the Daleks with the Reality Bomb. The 10th Doctor's half human duplicate chose to destroy the Daleks as he himself did as they (th Doctor, but was reluctant to do as the 1st, 4th, and 5th incarnations.

@theskadudeguy "turning people into weapons" is what Davros (creator of the Daleks) said to the Doctor in Journeys End, calling him the destroyer of worlds, referring to how he never goes into a situation with a gun but his companions become his weapons, when Martha was going to use the Osterhagen Key and Donna and the half-timelord regeneration of the Doctor committed genocide against all the Daleks..

@ritzthebiscuit i get the impression that the second verse is actually about the cybermen. "look at you fashioning people into weapons" the Daleks never did that the Cybermen did

Listened to the acoustic for the first time, and I loved it, but still, both of the versions are fantastic!

One of My Chameleon Circuit Favorite. I'm glad I discoverd Trock, it's a blast! :) (I can't help but think this song has nothing to do with Daleks, and everything to do with the Master... )
