I hear the obvious 80s punk vibes but in my opinion Ross' vox are nowhere near as memorable as those vocalists. His vocals on the slower RP songs were PERFECT. In Zoo he just sounds...detached. I'm sure that's the aesthetic he wanted but I think it muddied a pretty solid sounding album.

Ross sounds dead tired. The band sounds great and the songs are good but I am not a fan of the way he chose to sing on this album. Just...very boring monotonous half yelling. and I've loved everything the band has put out so far, my favorites being Still Nothing Moves You... and Rohnert Park. I will give Zoo a few more spins and time to grow but man...vox are choking the life out of this album.

In previous albums Ceremony allways had some 80s hxcpunk vibe Zoo exploded, the record is just slower, more punk and less hardcore. PV Ceremony is over and new album is classy, if you don't like 80's hxcpunk you're probably wasting your time here.
