• Yet another best of 2005 list...

2005 was a great year for music, if I do say so myself. Or, at least, a great year for metal. Without further ado...

    Ghost Reveries
The new album from the progressive metal giants surely does not disappoint. Mellow acoustic segments merge seamlessely with their electric counterparts, and Mikael's death growl along with his beautiful clean voice add another layer of atmosphere to this amazing band's music.
Favorite tracks: Ghost of Perdition, The Grand Conjuration, Isolation Years

Demigod kicked my ass. I didn't know what to expect from Behemoth, but having heard good things about them across the internet, I checked them out and I was pleasantly surprised by this blend of black and death.
Favorite tracks: Demigod, Before the Aeons Came, XUL

    Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies
This extremely interesting blend of death and grind was my first introduction to this band from my own city, Denver. Fast-paced, brutal music that is overall very good.
