Cause for Effect is a fusion grind band with only a bassist and a drummer, formed in 1992 in Tampere, Finland. They play an unique mixture of grindcore, metal, jazz, punk and guttural vocals. Their song patterns are free and don’t follow the traditional verse/chorus structures. The songs are typically short and have strong changes of the tempo and dynamics. The sound of the bass is clean but playd guitar-like with a pick. The lyrics are mainly sociopolitical issues of the condition of the world, but as a counterweight some lyrics are humoristic, where they praise tea breaks or the bassist’s amplifier, for example.
