Catacombs' 2006 release In the Depths of R'lyeh is one of the heaviest and plodding funeral doom ever put on plastic. It's very similar to the German band Ahab which I like a lot. Both have done a great job with literally based funeral doom (Ahab with Moby Dick and Catacombs with H.P. Lovecraft). If you love funeral doom with eerie guitar work then you will appreciate this one.
