There seem to be a lot of rather large gaps between the dates of my journals here. I'm not sure why I don't write more often; I guess I just write in the journal when I think of something really cool to write about. I am not using this as my diary by any means!!

From the title of this entry, you're probably thinking, "Oh no, she's going at it again...preaching about all the junk she's so mad about..." No, this is not going to be another one of those "getting-my-frustration-out" posts. I know the last one started out that way, but let's face it...I was frustrated! This time is different though. I don't have anything to vent about today.

So let's just get down to the point. If you've seen my profile page on this site, you may have noticed the rather obvious fact that I tend to listen to a LOT of music by Natalie Grant. In fact, it might even be a little too obvious, since Britt Nicole, the next artist down, doesn't have half as many plays in my library. …

Well, I thought it appropriate to follow-up my last blog on the sexually charged and erotic “I Want You” by Erykah Badu with . . . Casting Crowns big hit “Who Am I” from their self titled 2003 release. Makes perfect sense, right? Well . . . not really, but I like a wide range of music so as odd as it is to have both of these songs on my Ipod, it is normal for me. I am a saint and a sinner. I am . . . a walking contradiction of raging hormones, a dirty mouth, and a sincere and passionate faith in the God above. A song like “Who Am I” reminds me that though I may “want” somebody, I need the Lord more than anything else. Being a follower of Christ, knowing I am fully His, that means more to me than any temporary pleasure. My faith challenges me to be better. I don’t proselytize; I don’t shun the world and its music because, let’s face it, most Christian music and entertainment is terrible and I thankfully I didn’t lose my ability to discern good music from bad music when I found God. …
