The song was covered by The Isley Brothers on their 1972 album, Brother, Brother, Brother, reaching #39 on the R&B chart; by Billy Paul on his 1972 album, 360 Degrees of Billy Paul; The Stylistics on their 1972 Round 2 album; and Gloria Estefan on her 1994 album, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me. Dina Carroll also covered the song in 1991 with the band Quartz, earning her first hit; it reached #8 in the UK.
