Kiss been released September 18, 2012 on 604 Records/Schoolboy Records/Interscope Records. Its release will “give fans just enough time to absorb the new songs” before Jepsen starts her tour in Arizona on September 29.
When discussing the album, Jepsen revealed, “These are lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years […] The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”
Jepsen worked with producers such as Max Martin, Dallas Austin, LMFAO’s Redfoo, Toby Gad, Marianas Trench singer Josh Ramsay, Kevin James Maher and Matthew Koma. She also collaborated with American electronica music project Adam Young of Owl City on “Good Time”, which has so far peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. On the success she revealed, “I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to be able to collaborate with some of my dream producers. It has been the most fulfilling experience.”
