Carla Ulbrich is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Clemson, South Carolina
and currently living in New Jersey. Insert your own punchline here.

Many of Ulbrich’s pieces are of a humorous nature, reflecting on human life. A self-proclaimed ambassador for forgotten song topics, she has written songs about unappreciated elements, such as The Guy Who Changes the Lightbulbs (Changes Everything), PlayNothing to Say, PlayPrednisone and PlayThe Wedgie. Her album Sick Humor deals with her real-life recovery from multiple strokes and kidney failure in 2002. Her song PlayIf I Had the Copyright was featured in the documentary F*ck, released November 2006 and directed by Steve Anderson.

As Ulbrich has many and songs in her repertoire, she is featured regularly on the Dr. Demento Radio Show. She also won Novelty Song of the Year in 2006 at the Just Plain Folks awards for her piece PlayWhat If Your Butt Was Gone.

Carla released her 5th CD, “Live From Outer Space,” a concert recorded at Sirius XM radio, in August 2009. Coming Spring 2010: “How Can you Not Laugh at a Time Like This?,” a collection of humorous essays about her experiences as “The Singing Patient,” to be published by Tell Me Press.

Ulbrich’s official website can be found at www.carlau.com.
