Cardiacs are a British band formed in 1977. Their music combinines the excitement and energy of punk with the intricacies and technical cleverness of early British progressive rock, a combination sometimes referred to as pronk, although guitarist and singer Tim Smith prefers the description psychedelic, regardless, their sound is unique, varied, complex and intense.
