About this album

Lammendam is the debut full-length album by the band Carach Angren. Released in 2008, and re-released in 2013, it is a concept album about the “Lammendam”, a “ghost lady in a white dress.” The album features symphonic black metal with progressive song structures. The style has been compared to Ninnghizhidda, Anorexia Nervosa, and Dimmu Borgir. A reviewer of Sputnikmusic observed that singer Seregor’s vocals were unique since they are “relatively easy to understand and decipher upon first listen” when compared to other bands in the genre. The lyrics however are not written in the traditional verse-chorus-verse structure of the genre.

Great music, hysterically over-the-top attempts to be "evil" and dark. Definitely my favorite black metal band, this is more amusing than the Black Satans.

Yep. Death Came Through A Phantom Ship got me into them, but I have concluded that this is their best work. Amazing album; mindblowing compositions. 'La Malédiction de la Dame Blanche' is art in every sense of that word.

Not too original, you can hear big Cradle of Filth's inspiration, but it's a very pleasurable album, with great atmosphere and nice piano/violin parts. Nothing spectacular, but it's a must have for symphonic black metal's fans. Top 3: "A Strange Presence Near the Woods", "Haunting Echoes from the Seventeenth Century", "Corpse in a Nebulous Creek".

I like what I hear so far. I've always had a weakness for symphonic stuff.
