Biography

There are at least two groups using this name:
1) ｃａｐｓｕｌｅ (Japan), an electronic duo on their own label, Contemode.
2) Capsule (Miami, Florida), a hardcore/screamo band currently signed to Robotic Empire.

1) capsule is an duo, formed in Kanazawa, Japan in 1997 by Yasutaka Nakata (co-producer, art director) and Toshiko Koshijima (vocals). They are part of the movement that started in 1990, most notably by Pizzicato Five. In March of 2001, they made their first single with Yamaha Music, ‘Sakura’. Their music contains elements of , , , , , and most recently, . In 2003, Yasutaka created his own label, contemode, and has produced other artists on the label, such as Perfume, COLTEMONIKHA, NAGISA COSMETIC and Meg. Nakata has described the music produced by Contemode acts as “an accessory to fashion”, and the band’s music can often be found for sale in fashion boutiques in Shibuya, Japan.

2) Capsule is a hardcore band from Miami Beach. Started in 2004 by Eric Hernandez & Colin Smith, the band tours the United States frequently. They released a couple records on Dippy Records and in 2008, Robotic Empire released the critically acclaimed “Blue” on 12” vinyl and CD.

    so Nakata capsule fans, can someone explain to me why Player is so popular? I don't get the love for it, most of the album feels really tedious. Outside of The Music, Hello, and Love or Lies, I don't find myself enjoying any of it, but I like their stuff prior to Player, and I like the stuff after Player. Is that just me?

    Don't think I listen to much "Middle-schoolcore," But I mean...if 90% of your music comes from anime, and the last 10% is 800+ Ke$ha plays, are you REALLY the one to be calling people out? For the record, I love whiny music with angst. It's why I listen to Ayumi. I was just making sure to clarify which capsule is which. ;)

    I didn't even know electronic Capsule was a thing until I came here. I've never listened to them. I don't dislike that they exist in the least, especially since the Capsule I actually do listen to doesn't seem to be incredibly active. We can all be friends even though this is the internet. It's okay, I promise.
