Biography

There is more than one artist with this name.

1) Italian band (correct name CCCP Fedeli Alla Linea), formed in 1982 in Berlin, led by vocalist Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and guitarist Massimo Zamboni.

2) CCCP (or C.C.C.P.) was a German high-energy techno and rock band, led by Rasputin Stoy, aka Rai Streubel. They were best known for their 1986 instrumental American Soviets, released by Clockwork Germany. This six-minute song themed on the Cold War became a major hit at dance clubs and on the US Billboard Charts, German Top 75 and other European charts. Their follow-up singles - Made in Russia and Orient Express - were released by BMG Europe and BMG Pacific. Both titles were no. 1 and no. 2 in the official charts in the same week (Hong Kong, BeNeLux, France and Spain). Their 1990 song Don’t Kill The Rainforest was also a minor alternative radio hit.

3) Norwegian rock band formed in 1986 by Carlene Carter, Claudia Scott, Stein Groven and John Payne.

4) An experimental rock supergroup featuring Danny Carey of Tool, Les Claypool of Primus, Stewart Copeland of The Police and Neil Peart of Rush.

    CCCP is not the SAME GROUP as C.C.C.P. and should be separated. The group from the 80's did not use CCCP as their official name.

    Khmer_Rossa...certo che si puo' cambiare ma in questo caso è come dire invecchiare male..tutti noi dobbiamo invecchiare e poi dipartire...ma se ci si cura forse si invecchia 'meglio'..ad ogni modo Ferretti è libero di maturare il percorso che vuole..io lo contesto...lui che ha fatto dell'antifascismo una bandiera nei suoi anni che furono alla guida dei CCCP ora votare Lega (il neo-fascismo per antonomasia e meno mascherato..) per me è troppo...lo critico perchè gli ho voluto bene..a te non posso criticarti e non so come diventerai, auguri !

    @ondanera: neppure io sono d'accordo con le scelte prese da Ferretti, ma non capisco perchè ogni volta debba sentire o leggere commenti critici nei suoi confronti. Probabilmente avrà avuto un suo percorso ben preciso che l'ha portato a modificare (più o meno) radicalmente il suo pensiero. Anche io oggi sono convinto dei miei ideali e di quello che penso, ma se il tempo mi modificasse? Come posso affermare con certezza che non accadrà? Se mai dovesse succedere, vorrà dire che verrò incluso anche io nella schiera degli "infedeli", "eretici" o "tristi" ;)

    Ferretto arrugginito oggi vota udc...che tristezza...fondo' i fedeli ad una linea ed ora oggi è ancora più fedele, ma ad altro...mi sa che è proprio una questione di qualità...di qualità..per fortuna che le canzoni restano coerenti...
