“Be The Man” (also labeled as “Be The Man (On This Night)”) is the second single from Céline Dion’s fifth English-language smash-hit album Let’s Talk About Love. The song is written by David Foster and Junior Miles. The single is a Japan only release which was made available on November 13, 1997 in a mini CD single format. “Be The Man” is commercially available on the European, Asian, and Australian editions of Let’s Talk About Love. It is also released as a b-side to the single “The Reason”.

“Be The Man” was written for the Japanese TV drama series EVE - Santa Claus Dreaming. The song also appears on EVE’s original soundtrack which was released in Japan on November 13, 1997 (the same day the single was also made available). Following the success of “To Love You More”, “Be the Man” serves as a sequel to the latter. Both songs were made to cater to the Japanese audiences correlating as by both originating from Japanese TV drama series and incorporating use of the violin. A japanese and an english version of “Be The Man” exist: The lyrics of the japanese version is translated by Reiko Yukawa. The japanese version is worldwide available on Dion’s 2000 compilation album, The Collector’s Series, Volume One. The english version was later released on Dion’s compilations All The Way… A Decade Of Song (the Asian edition of the 1999 greatest hits) and Complete Best (released only in Japan on 2008). A karaoke version also exist, which appears only on the single.
