Biography
David “Bunker Hill” Walker (born May 5, 1941 in Washington, D.C.), served in gospel-based vocal groups The Sensational Wonders and The Mighty Clouds Of Joy before recording three garage rock singles under the guidance of guitarist and cult hero Link Wray. Though his catalogue is small (3 singles recorded in 1962 with Link Wray and the Raymen backing and released over ‘62-‘63), Walker’s releases are revered among garage devotees for the raw, near-hysterical quality of the vocals.
releases:
1962 Hide & Go Seek, Parts I & II
1963 Red Ridin’ Hood And The Wolf (b/w Nobody Knows)
1963 The Girl Can’t Dance (b/w You Can’t Make Me Doubt My Baby)
Bunker also provided backing vocals on Link Wray and the Raymen’s Dancing Party/Friday Night Dance Party
