BulletBoys are a glam metal band that was formed by vocalist Marq Torien, guitarist Mick Sweda, and bassist Lonnie Vencent in the late 1980s after they left King Kobra. It also featured new young rock drummer Jimmy D’Anda.

The band’s first two albums (Bullet Boys and Freakshow) were well received by critics and fans alike. Some critics compared the band to David Lee Roth-era Van Halen, as Torien’s vocal and performing similarities were noted as being derivative. That argument was furthered by the fact that Ted Templeman produced both the Roth-era Van Halen albums and the BulletBoys. It is noted that the guitar work for the Bulletboys was nowhere near the level of Edward Van Halen so the comparisons are limited.

The BulletBoys split up in 1993. Singer Marq Torien and bassist Lonnie Vencent continued to use the BulletBoys name and recorded Acid Monkey, a heavily alternative inspired album that was a major departure from the band’s usual hard rock style.

All original members got together to record one album in 2000 titled Greatest Hits: Burning Cats And Amputees. Marq and Lonnie released a new album, Sophie in 2003 under the BulletBoys name. This album featured vocal performances from former Skid Row lead singer Sebastian Bach.

Great band! The debut album and Za-Za are fantastic, Freakshow has some killer tunes as well along with a great Tom Waits cover, Behind the Orange Curtain is an awesome live album which shows that they can sound as good live as they sound on their studio albums. Marq Torien is one of my all time favorite favorite lead singers, his voice is absolutely fantastic, but after Mick, Lonnie and Jimmy left this band is not the same anymore. Acid Monkey, Sophie and 10c Billionaire are too weak comparative to their early works, but I think if Marq would find a decent musicians for the replacement and they will record something like their first three albums, these guys will probably hit a home run.

That was tough to live up to being called the second coming of Van Halen. It's a shame they weren't as successful as their predecessor.

i like their debut album, and freakshow. Cool stuff. At the guy below, i dont think they are Van Halen wannabes. They lend some techniques off the guys, more inm the performance department. But i wouldnt say they are clones. They sound more like VH crossed with Aerosmith to me.
