Why does it take a 62-year-old to write a song like this?

This song is instantly added to the great American Song Book. What Woody Guthrie was to the last depression, Springsteen is to this one.

Best song to start Last FM again after a three years hiatus... and I was lucky to hear this one live twice. Instant classic. Wonderful.

Bruce's "Death to My Hometown" is so factual. Take a look at Flint, Michigan, Saginaw, Michigan, Highland Park, Michigan, and even Detroit, Michigan. GM, Ford, and many other global corporations closed offices, and factories moved to outlining areas and out of the country. These companies have forsaken Michigan and the very communities that gave them tax breaks and other incentives for them to stay. Pfizer refurbished facilities in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Ann Arbor gave it a whopping tax incentive for it to stay in Ann Arbor. Wouldn't you know it? Immediately after Pfizer got these tax breaks and other incentives it closed its Ann Arbor and Michigan offices and moved to Connecticut. What a slap in the face to Ann Arbor. Those "robber barons' pillaged these communities all for profits. Right ON Bruce for throwing those punches to the robber barons. I hope I can see Bruce Springteen live some day soon and cheer Bruce and the E-Street Band on.
