The Wrecking Ball Songfacts reports that Wrecking Ball became Springsteen’s 10th chart-topping album in the US when it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Wrecking Ball's ascent to the peak position also meant that Springsteen became the first male artist to tally a #1 album in four straight decades.

    it's such a shame it's overproduced/loud, it could really have pushed Darkness at the Edge of Town. What they did here was make everything sound linear and lack any dynamic quality that good albums of his have.. in Born in the USA, his voice really blasts through the speakers. In this though... it's like the vocal is on the exact same level as the instruments.

    Think I've come around to liking "Wrecking Ball" more than "Magic" (just in time for Monday's show). Works in the balance of angry and joyous folk he struck on "Seeger Sessions" so well.
