Thessaloniki (1997 – present)
The group starts in 1997 in thessaloniki with a few gigs.
Jo plays the bass, Tasos the drums, Frans the saxophone and George the guitar. George is also in lead vocals and writes the music and the lyrics. Jo and George used to live in Paris where they played music with different bands. Before that, Jo played with Rotondo Rocks. Tasos played with the Lone Stars, Little Peter, Bad News and The Blue while he now plays with Xaxakes. In the summer of 1998 the group records 6 tracks in Magnanimus studio in Thessaloniki with George Pentzikis.
In 2000-2001, the rest of the songs are recorded in Action studio in Athens, with Aristidis Christou and Lampros Papalexis. In 2001 two guys join the group: Panos Papazoglou on guitar and Christos Pappas on keyboards. In 2004 the cd is mastered in Unity Mastering in London by Chris Parmenidis. In 2005 Broken Seals’ debut, titled “BROKEN SEALS”, is released on OLON MUSIC. Throughout the years, the band has performed live with Madrugada, Mick Harvey, Mercury Rev, Arab Strap, Phil Shoenfelt, Zita Swoon etc. Broken Seals’ new album “Rise” is out now!
