Oops!… I Did It Again is the second studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears, released on May 16, 2000 on Jive Records. The album debuted at number one in the U.S, selling 1,319,193 units during its first week of sales], the album dominated the U.S retail markets on May 16th in its first day in stores according to a survey of retail outlets, after moving 500,000 units in its first day of release breaking the SoundScan record for the highest sales in its debut week by any solo artist. The album contains Britney’s first writing credit on one of her albums, for “Dear Diary”. This was her second album to received a diamond certification denoting over 10 million shipments sold in the United States according to the Recording Industry Association of America. The album produced three hit singles: her third UK number-one single “Oops!… I Did It Again”, “Lucky” and “Stronger”. As of September 2006, “Oops!…I Did It Again” has shipped over 20 million copies globally.
