Let's sail away past the noise of the bay
Let's sail away past the birth and death of the day
Let's sail away to where the blues
And greens swirl into gray, let's sail away

oh hey i have that 11 min version too. The 25 min is really just drone in the end or does it have Contrast and Compare also?

Yeah, I remember in the 90s that producers would often put a massive bonus track on to bump up the total playtime displayed when you put the disc in.

"The Unbearable Lightness of Being" is my favorite book ever and just now I checked, that the song was named after this. wow.and @ susurrous: you have to read it, its much better then the movie!

mh it seems like we all have a different version. my version lasts just 11 minutes, the second song is another version of Contrast and Compare with a scary laughter in the middle ..

Gotta watch 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' because of this song. Maybe Tereza & Tomas vanishing from a road somewhere will be just as beautiful...

Surprisingly, this song is eerily beautiful. First time I really heard this was listening to the album at 2am on a road trip home from New Orleans. I suggest you try to do the same, it's rather poignant.

I don't even think the ending is superfluous; it's more meditative than anything and definitely worth listening to if you've listened to the whole album through from the first track. To me it makes sense within the context of If Winter Ends. The 15 minute section after the first part is like a blank winter landscape which stands in contrast to the very human, cathartic outburst that is the first part of the album.

i love this-- even the superfluous 20 minutes of nothing. its good song to fall asleep to. to me the sentiment of the song doesnt match up with the kundera reference at the end though...

I sort of agree with lovelovelover, that it's the weakest on the album BUT it is an excellent song, not just okay

One of my favorites. Based on a great novel, or at least named after it. The song doesn't exactly reference the novel directly except in the last line.

One of the best Bright Eyes songs, if not the best.

you. actually. don't. only. listen. to. the. first. five. minutes. because. there. is. a. hidden. track. - who. is. the. dumbass. now.? anyway, i actually think this song is one of the weakest on the album, but it's okay...

To me, the last 20 minutes represent the act of "letting off the happiness."
