When Brian was given access to the Gershwin soundbook (probably owned by Disney) they contracted him to do 2 records and I believe they asked him to do a Disney song album. I imagine this album was the contractual obligation, and the Gershwin was the one he actually concentrated on, because that album was amazing and this is just a bore.

Brian Wilson is revisiting his own youth through Walt Disney's films repertoire. Almost in chronological order, he is singing covers of a music that a lot of us have already heard. Beautiful work, OK, but it is WORK. I'd call this self indulgence, but Brian has every right to do what HE wants. God is everywhere, Brian is sitting in his chair. So let's bless God/Brian. Everyday is Brian's day.

not overly exciting, but solid. some fine lead vocals. nowhere as good as the gershwin record, though. maybe it'll grow on me...
