Abandoned landscapes whisper as a cold wind circulates, eroding all reminders of life back into the dry dust from which they rose :D

"This is the 'Ambient' album where you've been out in the woods and it's been a lovely sunny day, but now the sun's going down and you're miles from the house, and things are coming out and flapping around and there are lots of little eyes looking at you from the bushes..." perfect description

Eerie and ominous. This is the sound of ordinary things at night, when you're alone and in an unfamiliar place. Everything is familiar but unrecognizable. Before you can determine what the last thing you heard was, there's another noise; and that new noise is another mystery and another threat. You can keep telling yourself that you're fine, that the noises present no real danger; but, when the noises don't stop, you can't make yourself believe it.

Excellent isolationism from the master. Glad I picked this one up at the library on a whim...

Every time I listen to pieces by Eno it always amazes the depth and mood that he creates within them.

I think Ambient 4 is an incredible recording. All the tracks are strikingly individual, yet fit together to evoke an emotionally haunting experience. I must have listened to it over 1000 times over the years, but it has never lost it's ability to surprise and delight.
