About this album

Covered by Sugar Ray for soundtrack to movie “The Beach”, with Leonardo DiCaprio. Not as good as Eno’s version. Lyrics may refer to the painting “Starry Night”, by Van Gogh. May refer to more than that as well.

"Spinning Away" came on shuffle after not hearing this album in ages- such a warm and lovely album! It's still to this day easily some of the best mid-period/late(r) stuff either of them has done...

I think that the original cover artwork is terrible, but don't let that fool you. This is a premium record. I like the work of both of them, but nonetheless, for me this is easily the best album that either of them has made. Great to listen to in the summertime.

The Collaboration between Brian Eno and John Cale was one of their definetely BETTER ideas! Great album! It shows both artists diversity!

did you guy's honestly expect anything less from a collaboration of musical/artistic juggernauts such as Eno & Cale? I love that instead of making an extremely pretentious album (which knowing these two could have been) they decided to make this innovative experimental pop record. It is odd to me that this album does not get more love. Call me crazy but I actually hear a lot of similarities between this work and contemporary acts like Animal Collective.

I can't remember the last time I came across such an addictive album. I've been playing it almost constantly since the CD arrived in the mail.
