Biography
On January 20, 2010 Detar announced on his official Facebook page that he is making his first solo album. In the note he mentioned that he had no plans to be a solo artist; yet, after The Juliana Theory folded in 2006 he had accumulated some 50+ songs “piled up on mini recorders, cell-phone voice memos, and hard drives”.
Detar is also writing material for other artists, including UK singer and songwriter Greg Holden and Rookie of the Year and is scoring a feature film.

well, he actually played in Zao, when he already had The Juliana Theory. plus, he was a long-time friend of Daniel Weyandt, Zao's vocalist, and this is why he joined with Zao for a short period. However, this solo album that he recorded is just awesome. I'm not a country person myself, but I was honestly amazed by Bird In The Tangle. P.S. Zao never was a death metal band, LOL. They have gone from spirit-filled hardcore to metalcore, when Dan joined with them, and then they moved on to various experimentations with their sound. but they never played death metal.

country flair? more like country soaked...it's weird, didn't expect this from him....should cut his hair though, go back to the pomp, it's more traditional country anyway
