The boys of Breakers Broken went into the summer of ‘09 with the mindset of conquering the challenge ahead. Finishing strong, Breakers ended the summer playing shows at premiere Chicago venues, The Metro and The House of Blues; opening for acts such as DJ’s Flosstradamus, UK sensation Iglu & Hartley, and Lupe Fiasco “Superstar” vocalist, Matthew Santos. They began their summer by playing a round of outdoor Midwest fests as well as recording and releasing their new EP, “Reset,” featuring the talented and experienced ears of Chicago producers, Rick Barnes and Doug McBride (Smashing Pumpkins, Fallout Boy, Dashboard Confessional, Ben Kweller, Rachel Yamagata). The release of “Reset” has been receiving rave reviews by fans and industry alike, even earning commercial radio play on Chicago rock radio mogul, Q101. A live show’s sound extends beyond a trio - the band mixes in elements of electronic music, has members switching instruments, and employs three-part harmonies, percussion breakdowns, and unexpected instrumental segways.
