Bravestation combine the ambient textures and spaced-out guitars of New Wave with colourful harmonies and tribal percussion to achieve a sound both immediately familiar and new. Or, as Flavorpill put it, “if Foals moved to Canada and joined Wolf Parade, they might sound something like Bravestation, boasting flawless vocal harmonies and genre-bending melodies.”
Bravestation released a self-recorded/produced EP in 2010, which i(heart)music called “one of the best albums of the year…occupying a space somewhere between The National and The Killers,” and Dazed & Confused described as “sounding like a blend of Foals, Yeasayer and Local Natives - charming and certainly worth a listen.”
With the Toronto four-piece having recently announced plans for their debut LP, Bravestation’s future is beaming bright.
