Biography

1. David Sims was born in September ‘91, in Aylesbury, UK. He started composing in 2004, for a rock group at his school. From February 2005, he began to publish sheet music over the internet, his early work gaining top 10 placings on the guitar charts; and by the age of 14 two of his songs had entered the main website charts- “Betrayal” reached #5 in the Rock chart out of 3,000 scores. Another song, “The Trip”, impressively topped the Rock charts for 2 months straight in the summer of 2006, as well as peaking at #5 in the overall chart of over 56,000 pieces of music.

The idea for Braindrop started in March 2007, after a pair of songs that David had started took an obviously darker tone from his usual writings (these later became ‘Hollow Cause’ and ‘Saul’). Having been signed by the record label Atom Sounds early in the following month, he soon finished recording his (eponymous) debut album. It was released to moderate success in mid-June 2007.

2. Braindrop is Sumith, one of the most upcoming EDM producers from India.
Traversing through many genres of music in the past decade ranging from instrumental, fusion, world music, breakbeats, acid house, techno, trance to name a few with short stints in fusion and metal bands, a craving for the most futuristic sounds evolved. The sounds are new age yet not missing the psychedelic touch. The rhythms are futuristic yet driving. The mood is mysterious yet energetic; demented but powerful. Combining varied elements of the never ending music spectrum, while turning the brooding depths of night to the remote signs of light, this sound has taken him to perform at numerous dancefloors across Dubai, India and Nepal.
