There are more than one artist named Brain Vacation

1) (1982-1986) Brain Vacation was a collaborative experiment by a pair of hyper-creative ex-hardcore punks in the early 1980s - Matt (EarwaxOfSatan) and his friend Kevin. Matt had played in a series of experimental and punk bands, including The Pukes (NJ), since 1979, and Kevin lead the Corporate Pigs.

Matt joined the Corporate Pigs as vocalist and occasional guitarist around the same time the two decided to put together Brain Vacation (1982) as an experimental outlet for edgy post-punk stuff which did not fit the Corporate Pigs's model. Steve - a professional drummer (TV Toy) and percussion teacher - produced and played drums, and his buddy Mike added Moog. Various others occasionally helped out on vocals and other instruments.

The rules were simple. Kevin and Matt spent a weekend or so rehearsing the 20-40 songs they wanted to record before each session - usually the week before the recording session - and then spent a weekend at Steve's laying tracks.

BV recorded over 180 originals and one cover - the theme song from Gojira Vs Hedora (Godzilla vs The Smog Monster) - from 1982 to 1990. BV never formally split up, but kind of faded away once the Corporate Pigs reconstituted as a Post-Punk experiment, Steve and Matt moved to Maine (1987) and Kevin's more conventional post-punk outfit Chicken Scratch got signed and started touring places like Europe.

Here was the standard lineup:

Matt: guitar, vocals, bass, sax, percussion
Kevin: vocals, guitar, bass, percussion
Steve: Percussion
Mike: Synth
