Could you get any more pretentious? Stop trying to sound clever just by using long words.

I think the comparisons to other artists who may utilize similar elements, at least insofar as it is a criticism, is definitely off-base. At this point in the history of music, a huge plethora of sounds have already been appropriated and absolute originality is an elusive ideal at best. There are so many bands out there that are extremely cliched and lack artistic ambition, and at least relatively speaking, Braids should not be lumped into that group. And I personally believe they stand sonically on their own regardless of what I just said.

@MBArkestra Not good comparisons at all. Even laughable. The new song is good but it's kind of sad to see them go into an all electronic direction. Native Speaker was a great art rock album, different than what most bands are doing. This new sound is reminiscent of a lot of bands with similar sounds, NOT Purity Ring lol do you hear a hip-hop beat and auto-tuneish vocals in this? No you don't. A little glitch but not too much

The new single is alright. It looks they've moved on from being an Animal Collective knockoff to being a Purity Ring knockoff. Keep chasing that rainbow, kids.

people who like this should really have a listen to conquering animal sound. they go together perfectly in my head. CAS are a bit more glitchy and electronic than Braids. check them out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bsLh3nAMG4
