Biography
Gábor Bräutigam is a hungarian drummer born in 1965, and raised in or near Pécs, Hungary. His nickname is Ricsi.
He got acquainted with drums while spending time with his cousin’s dixie band. He begun playing on different objects when around 17 years old, and got his first drum kit at 19.
As a kid he was a gymnast, then a footballer. He studied in a catering trade school. When not an active drummer he has tried out various jobs.
In 1987, he was founding member of Kispál és a Borz, and plays drums on its fundamental albums.
Tensions rose when the rest of the band was to take new musical directions during the making of their 4th album, but Bräutigam seemingly had hard time complying with changing expectations. This ultimately forced him to quit in early 1996.
He showed up again in 2005 with the band Kiscsillag, with some of the old Kispál és a Borz lineup, recording the band’s first album in 2006, but parted ways with the band in early 2008 for presumably similar reasons than before.
Lovasi says: “Ricsi is good at just one thing - but he is unbeatable at it: playing simpe beat with good feel.”
