Biography

This is Box Monster, an unsigned band from London, England. (2004-2008)

Kicking off in the spring of 2004 in the northest of London, Box Monster formed from the ashes of Aorta and a large asian gentleman by the name of Mit. Quickly taking on board Alan Williamson (formerly of Mendoza and From Grace) on drums and Dan Weiss on bass, the band quickly began writing and performing and thus the journey began. After much gigging, and the recording of the first EP ‘Handle With Care’, the sad departure of Dan in 2006 led to the susbsequent joining of Sidius Sidnius (also ex-Aorta).

The band continued gaining popularity and climbing out of the toilet circuit to peform in venues such as the Underworld, Barfly and Monto Water Rats. Barely a year later with Sid moving on to pastures new in late 2007 (what is it with this band and bass players?) the band welcomed Dave Crowback into the fold and a new musical direction to boot with the recording of their second EP ‘Stench’. With the line-up set in stone, they went from strength to strength, writing a hell of a lot of new material & yet again, playing some prestigious venues, the band continued on their quest for recognition…

January 2009, a year after the recording of ‘Stench’, and the unexpected departure of Alan… the remaining band members mutually decided to call it a day & to move onto new adventures. So watch this space…
