Biography
Welcome to the dark-minimal Electro style of Boris Divider, producer of an Electro that is the vision of an automated society and a world controlled by machines.
Born in 1975, Boris finds inspiration from his first ebm waves, the dark electronic scene and the old school electro and hiphop movement that appeared on the streets of his native Madrid in the early nineties. Of course, Boris? music also reflects influences from Electro founders Kraftwerk, Anthony Rother?s early work and sci-fi films and books like Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell . Boris started to create electronic music in 1992 with the use of computers, sequencers and synths, but it wasn´t until the late nineties that Electro caught his attention.
Boris joined Anthony Rother´s prestigious label towards the end of 2001, where he worked on a mini album called “Integrated-Lifes.” He was officially presented as a PSI49NET artist in early 2002 through the Electro Commando 1 “Welcome to PsiCity” compilation. The track called “Terminal City” hints at the sounds soon to be released on a 4 track 12” ep format by the North American label Monotone.
The year 2003 saw the birth of Boris? label called DRIVECOM, produced to give Electro the impulse it deserves and keep the essence of the dark and minimal taste that has inspired Boris from the beginning. Now four references include producers like Scape One, Unborn, Dark Vektor, Ideograma and Micro Controlled Corporation.
