Vision Creation Newsun finds Boredoms moving even further away from the random noise that marked their early output and settling into a loose, jam-oriented aesthetic. The first two tracks (no song titles here, only symbols) find Boredoms further investigating pounding tribal rock with propulsive drumming, energetic guitar work, and vocal chants. The overall feel bears some similarity to Super æ, with tracks that draw from Krautrock and psychedelia, but Vision Creation Newsun adds a folk element, including softer instrumental textures like hand percussion, lengthy cymbal washes, and acoustic guitars. Some passages even flirt with new age, as they weave bird songs and the sound of falling water into the mix. These delicate touches aptly demonstrate the sonic range of Boredoms, but some of these meandering pieces can get tedious. Still, the highlights are many.

For whatever reason, when I try to replace (heart) with the symbol ♡ in the track title field, it appears as three horizontal lines instead. It's driving me nuts.

One of the most incredible albums I've had the privilege to listen to. Percussion and atmosphere are godlike.

If you don't have the ASCII symbols for the track titles you're not even listening to this correctly.

I can't get past the first track. Seriously, it is so impossibly good, I'm afraid that the rest of the album will not live up to my expectations now. Is the rest of the album as good?

The first and only time I tripped on psychedelic mushrooms was AMAZING - except, my co-tripper insisted on listening to Brand New. That's fine and dandy, but the music was terribly inappropriate. In hindsight, this album would've blown everything else out of the water, and blown our minds to boot.
