Forming in the Bowels of Brooklyn from such bands as Yum Yum Tree, Books Lie forced a guttural middle finger down the throat of an increasingly fashion-conscious and vapid scene. They didn’t have jet black hair, tight pants or the physiques of herion addicts and thier music embodied the virtues of “pre-Williamsburg renaissance” Brooklyn; endearingly blunt with no bullshit.

@ toyboat_toyboat: because personally i am sick of people calling bands that are hardcore/[metal/ or metalcore] screamo and post-hardcore when they do not match the criteria at all. it also gives the band a bad rep, depending on who you talk to. alot of people i know despise the screamo/post-hardcore tag.
