About this album

The name ‘Bon Iver’ is derived from the French for ‘good winter.’ The album was recorded in Justin Vernon’s home town of Eau Claire in Wisconsin, where the temperature rarely rises above freezing in winter. The Calgary Songfacts reports that Vernon told UK newspaper The Sun naming it Bon Iver shows he’s accepting winter is a big part of the album.

Put some good headphones on, and just listen to this. It's so amazing

I'm trying to think of a bad Justin Vernon song...wait, maybe his Bonnie Raitt cover. That's pretty fucking bad. But other than that, yeah, he's gold! Love this album. Floated in a huge hotel bath and listened to this whole album.

50 years from now, this one will be a classic. I'm generally a metal-head, but this is definitely in my top 5 greatest albums of all time.

So much better than his previous disk. "Perth" sounds amazing with good headphones.

I'll be the dude to say it- This is definitely better than For Emma. I love both records, but this is just something else. Put on your headphones, turn up the volume, it will completely blow your mind. [3]

Most listened on my iTunes and Spotify. Says enough. Most brilliant album ever made in my humble opinion.

  • azure17,_Bon_Iver The album's name is definitely "Bon Iver, Bon Iver", so can someone fix that?

You guys are so stupid, it's "Bon Iver, Bon Iver" instead of "Bon Iver - Bon Iver" smh. not instead of just title "Bon Iver" it's just self-titled album, but Justin Vernon wanted to change the way how people see those "artist - album" tags

In the official website, the album name is "Bon Iver", but in the description is written "Bon Iver, Bon Iver"

Finally getting into this album, however Beth/rest has too much Hall & Oates going on for me.
