Bombs for the Bored is Noah Gabbard, and was originally founded in Tucson, AZ as a four-piece rock band when Gabbard was still in high school in 2002.

Focusing on the gap between the confessional songwriting of Elliot Smith and the stadium-sized bombast of The Smashing Pumpkins, with a jolt of Fugazi’s angular punk for good measure, BFTB found modest success locally, and gained a small but loyal fan base.

After numerous lineup changes, a few self-released EPs, and a track on the “Desert Mountain District” compilation, BFTB called it quits in 2006. Gabbard went on to play guitar with Tucson locals Redlands, Cathy Rivers, and Fistsized. He wrote and performed with the short-lived black metal and hardcore-influenced Holy Dose in 2008.

Following a two-week hospital stay, Gabbard wrote six songs, five of which are on the “Evil Sleep” EP, within a week and quickly began recording them with Gabbard playing all of the instruments. “Evil Sleep” is the first official Bombs for the Bored release. It was released on September 20th, 2012.

Noah Gabbard currently plays guitar in HAIRSPRAYFIREANDGIRLS, who have released two full-length albums.
