Bodes & Elefantes

“one of the first memories i have of guilherme granado is from many years ago: a tape, where he sings a version of the bad brains i against i. and in all fairness, it didn…t come out that bad… but my point it is: you gotta give him props just to have the guts to try to sing that song! and that when he was only 15 or 16 years old!. more than one decade after that first encounter, many things have been done by the guy, always with finesse: from the controled aggression as the bass player for the band againe, to the subtle explosion playing a little of everything with hurtmold, including many other projetcts in between that. i had the luck to witness most of those projects so i can safely say: the guy has many talents. “granose” knows a bunch. He even knows how to play instruments now! i say that because until some time ago his prime instrument was his voice. and he has an encyclopedic brain. any doubt you have, just do a “granado google search”, and you got it! that melody that you can…t remember who wrote, or wich artist did that cover art, just ask guilherme and you…ll have the answer. the youngster has many stories in his head and aces in his deck. and he just pulled a fresh one, a collection of pearls suitably entitled bodes & elefantes. to label the record is a very hard task - actually that is totally unecessary and useless. but what i can tell you about the record is that in it you will find a great combination of organic and eletronic sounds. breaks sampled, programmed or played by him live; beatiful melodies and some improvisations as well.
