Always carry a rag whenever you play the steel guitar. Your fingers and palms will get sweaty and that draws flies ... which can and will affect your ability to use the slide bar effectively, thus making you sound less professional. But, never ... NEVER blow your nose on that rag as that will cause your strings to gunk up and make your playing sound like hell. That, dear chilluns, is your Steel Guitar Rag playing tip for today ....

This is the music my father sang, played, and loved. He ended up being a survivor of the Death March of Bataan, spent 4 years slave labor in a steel mill, and was killed by the radiation at Nagasaki. Died before I was two. But I know his heart through his music; Lucky me. God bless Bob Willis!
