British musician Robert Joseph ‘Bob’ Weston (born on 1 November 1947 in Plymouth, Devon; died 3 January 2012, London) is best known for his brief role as guitarist and songwriter with the rock band Fleetwood Mac. Recruited into the Fleetwood Mac line-up in late 1972 as replacement for guitarist Danny Kirwan, he recorded two albums with the band, Penguin and Mystery to Me, both released in 1973. Weston was fired from the band in late 1973 when it emerged he was having an affair with drummer and founding member Mick Fleetwood’s wife. Weston went on to record several solo albums including Night Light (1980), Studio Picks (1981) and There’s A Heaven (1999).

He was born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lowell, Lowell, MA. While working at the University’s campus radio station, WJUL, he began mixing live performances of local Boston bands such as The Pixies and the Blake Babies.
