This became Bob's turn into Christianity. Lotta people scratching their heads. Others really loved it. Nice album. Unexpected? I guess you have to know Bob...

One of my all-time favorite Dylan songs.

I'm so glad Dylan revisited this mode of lighthearted-fable-with-a-dark-dark-core songwriting on Under the Red Sky. Man Gave Names to All the Animals is one of my all-time favorite Dylan tunes and UtRS proves that Bob had nowhere NEAR exhausted its thematic/musical vein in 1979.

It wasn't too small and it wasn't too big and it wasn't too small! HM! Think I'll call it a, uhh [mumble mumble]. (What a delight this song is on live recordings, every damn time! Bob has so much fun with it!)

Props to Zimmy's way with words, but this is just ridiculous.

Fatherhood's gonna be rough on ya, ain't it? Either that or you hate reggae with a deadly, firey passion. Ah well, cheers to you anyway =)

This is a wonderful song, and that ending is absolutely brilliant.

It's a children's book and my daughter loves it. It may not be his best, but it brings a smile to her face.

May well be the shittest song he ever committed to record. Absolutely abysmal.

Fun track. Almost like "Bob Dylan by way of Schoolhouse Rock". Although the ending always sends a chill down my spine.

I can't help but love him leading up to a pig and calling it a giraffe in an old live show in San Francisco (I think) in '79.
