From The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan and 237 other releases

“Blowin’ in the Wind” is a song written by Bob Dylan and released on his 1963 album The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. Although it has been described as a protest song, it poses a series of philosophical questions about peace, war, and freedom without supplying concrete answers. The refrain “The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind” has been described as “impenetrably ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in your face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind”. The song makes no reference to a specific event.

There are many famous covers of Blowin’ in the Wind, and it is often regarded as one of the most covered songs of all time.

Listening to the album "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" released in May 1963 by Columbia, Dylan's second studio album. This album established Dylan as a true Folk songwriter. It also started a big fight over his management between John Hammond and Albert Grossman which Grossman won, and pushed Dylan to Mega-Stardome all the while robbing him of 50% of his earnings until Dylan dumped him in 1970.

This is not Bob Dylan. Sounds absolutely nothing like him... Sounds like a parody. Go get The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan! [2]

Not much reverence for The Great Bob on this page, love Naftallina's wicked parody. But come on, this is probably the greatest protest song ever written if you haven't heard PF Sloan's Eve of Destruction, and it still sounds as fresh and timeless today.
