    Dr. No's Ethiopium - Oh No [2009]
Instrumental hip-hop with okay beats. Kind of hit or miss song-wise.

Real Estate - Real Estate [2009]
Sounds like a Death Cab for Cutie demo, but with more post-rock and a dash of shoegaze influence.
The vocals are distorted so that it sounds like your in the room next to the singer, and you've got your head pressed up against the wall struggling to hear him sing.
I do like Snow Days quite a bit though.

Aceyalone & The Lonely Ones - Aceyalone [2009]
A rap tribute to 50's/60's pop music.
A fun album, with an interesting idea, that's executed well.

Collaborations ep - Amon Tobin and guests [2009]
A rather unremarkable release for amon tobin, but excellent release for anyone else.

    Get Color - HEALTH [2009]
Catchy mixture of rock and electronic with dreamy, disconnected vocals and delicious jungle drums.

The Bay of Future Passed - Microfilm [2009]
One of my favorite post-rock bands.
I didn't like this as much as their previous releases.
PlayBlood Sample is such a good track though. I suppose the band thought so as well since they included a piano rendition of the melody as the last song on the album.

an anxious object - Mouse On The Keys [2009]
Post-rock with piano and sometimes jazz too.
    Wavers between boring and bad.

Polly Scattergood - Polly Scattergood [2009]
Gentle indie pop with female lead singer
There's a heavy emphasis on the lyrics, which kinda suck
There's not very many female-fronted bands I like, and I feel bad about this.

There Will be fireworks - There Will Be Fireworks [2009]
Post-rock with a singer who has a heavy Scottish accent.
    The accent makes me dawwwwww.

    Daisy - Brand New [2009]
A pistache 90's alt rock sound with a little bit emo/screamo vocals thrown in.
    Not that great.

    Gutter Tactics - dälek [2009]
    Moody rap with rock/metal samples.
Almost sounds like they sample SUNN O)) or Sleep or something similar on Who Medgar Evers Was...
Los Macheteros / Spear of a Nation has a power electronic feel to the beat.

    3P - MNDSGn [2009]
Clumsy mixing of beats that don't really go together

    just A moment - 凛として時雨 [2009]
    j-rock/pop
I'm not very knowledgeable about Japanese music, but it doesn't stick out to me as being very good or bad.

    Moen - Immanu El [2009]
Post rock with hushed, crooning vocals. Has that typical Christian band sound.
I have nothing against Christian bands; I'm just against boring ones.

Further Complications - Jarvis Cocker [2009]
Terrible, like 70's rock, but without any of the soul.
I hate the lead singers voice so much.

Seek Magic - Memory Tapes [2009]
Neo-disco sound with ambient and idm undertones
    Good, but not for me.

Eating Us - Black Moth Super Rainbow [2009]
J-pop plus Boards of Canada and 70's prog.
    Enjoyable twee album.

Name your top 10 most played artists on Last.fm:

    1. Air
    2. Howard Shore
    3. Sigur Rós
    4. Goldfrapp
    5. Imogen Heap
    6. Moby
    7. Frou Frou
    8. Röyksopp
    9. Bent
    10. Boards of Canada

Now answer the questions according to the numbers:

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
It was probably either South Side or Extreme Ways. It was so long ago, I can't remember.

What is your favourite album of 2?
Definitely The Lord of the Rings, which I consider one album because it tells one continuous story.

What is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
"The more you lose the less you see,
So close your eyes and start to breathe,
Oh you said yourself, this wasn't easy."

How many times have you seen 4 live?
    Never! D:

What is your favourite song by 7?
PlayIt's Good To Be In Love. If this song were human, it would be my soul-mate.

What is a good memory you have involving the music of 10?
Relaxing in bed and falling asleep to the sounds of Dayvan Cowboy.

Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
Uh... Sigur Rós makes me so happy, it's a little sad. Does that count?

What is your favourite lyric that 2 has sung?
He's a composer, but my favourite lyric from his albums is:
"When the cold of winter comes
    Starless night will cover day
In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain

    But in dreams
    I can hear your name
    And in dreams
    We will meet again"
Sung by Edward Ross in The Breaking of the Fellowship from The Fellowship Of The Ring album. :')

What is your favourite song by 9?
    PlaySunday 29th.

How did you get into 3?
    I... Uh. I don't know! I can't remember. :/

What was the first song you heard by 1?
PlayCherry Blossom Girl! It's the entire reason I went searching for more songs by them.

What is your favourite song by 4?
    PlayA&E. :)

How many time have you seen 9 live?
    Never.

What is a good memory you have involving 2?
I have so many good memories involving Howard Shore's music, it's ridiculous. It's the only music I listened to in high school. I played it constantly, all the time, on repeat. It at times would make me cry, make me laugh, make me cheer. I was as equally in love with the Lord of the Rings music as I was with the books and the movies. I know it's such a cliche to say, and I hate to say it, but... This music saved my life. And my love for it has not diminished over the years.

Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
    Can't think of one.

What is your favourite album of 5?
    Her newest, Ellipse.

What is your favourite lyric that 3 has sung?
    Well... they sing in Icelandic.

What is your favourite song of 1?
    PlayMer du Japon.

What is your favourite song of 10?
    Dayvan Cowboy!

How many times have you seen 8 live?
Never. I fail when it comes to concerts.

What is your favourite album of 1?
I guess I'll go with Talkie Walkie.

What is a great memory you have considering 9?
I always associate them with my sister, because we both went a little crazy with them for a while.

What was the first song you heard by 8?
    PlayFollow My Ruin.

What is your favourite song by 2?
How much time do you have? PlayConcerning Hobbits, Lothlorien, The Breaking of the Fellowship, PlayMay It Be, PlayThe Riders of Rohan, PlayThe King of the Golden Hall, PlayEvenstar, The Breath Of Life, Forth Eorlingas, PlayGollum's Song, PlayMinas Tirith, PlayThe Steward of Gondor, The Ride of the Rohirrim, The Return of the King, PlayInto the West.
If you're going to make me narrow it down a bit more to one song:
The Fellowship Of The Ring - The Breaking of the Fellowship.
The Two Towers - It was a tough choice between Forth Eorlingas and something like The Riders of Rohan or The King of the Golden Hall which feature the beautiful violin theme that I associate with The Two Towers and Rohan, but in the end I went with Forth Eorlingas.
The Return Of The King - Minas Tirith.

  • Listening data (11.23.09 chart reset)

    29 Nov 2009, 06:19 by Omega_Switch22B

So I decided to reset my charts... again (after about 23,000 scrobbles). Here are my top artists and albums from early January up until late November. It seems I can't go more than 25k scrobbles without resetting... I would probably have over 100,000 scrobbles if I never reset my charts (combined with my scrobbles from my old account).

  • Meine TOP30 Alben.

    27 Nov 2009, 12:33 by Gedankenhaufen

My TOP 30 albums. No further explainations needed. Comments in German.

    gedankenhaufen's top albums (overall)
    1.
    Aphex Twin - Drukqs (111)

    2.
The Conet Project - The Conet Project (106)

    3.
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album (66)

    4.
Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do (44)

    5.
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works II (31)

    6.
Broadcast and The Focus Group - Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age (29)

Toll.
    7.
Set Fire to Flames - Sings Reign Rebuilder (28)

Set Fire To Flames, haben in ihrer Geschichte zwei Alben veröffentlicht. Dieses Debütalbum, 2001, hat es in sich. Straßenklänge, vorbeifahrende Krankenwagen, Drones und Krach und dazwischen herzerweichender Post-Rock. Himmlisch, seltsam, manchmal unheimlich. Auf jeden Fall nicht greifbar.
    8.

    10.

    11.
Bill Callahan - Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle (24)

    12.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven! (22)

Keine.
    13.
The Books - Lost and Safe (20)

Super Band, super Album. Leider lässt sich ihre Musik kaum beschreiben. Folktronica? Sampled Music? Aleatoric? Keine Ahnung.
    14.
Broadcast - Broadcast and the Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age (19)

    15.
A Silver Mt. Zion - Horses in the Sky (19)

Zynische, politische Lieder. Zum Weinen schöne Kanons. Glockenspiel, oh, Glockenspiel, how I missed thee.
    16.
    Terre Thaemlitz - Soil (18)

    17.
    Fennesz - Hotel Paral.lel (18)

So viel Krach, so viel Wiederholung, so viel obskure Schönheit.

So'n Hals!
    19.
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Lie Down In The Light (17)

    20.
Aphex Twin - On Ep (16)

    21.
Mouse on Mars - Idiology (16)

Orchester, Krach, Elektronisches.
    22.
Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase (16)

Anschalten, träumen, fürchten, Ehrfurcht. BoC bleiben die Altmeister. Das ist ok so.
    23.
Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - Vrioon (15)

    24.
Mouse on Mars - Niun Niggung (14)

    25.
Daniel Johnston - Hi, How Are You (13)

    26.
Die Goldenen Zitronen - Lenin (13)

    27.
The Books - Thought for Food (12)

    28.
    Aphex Twin - Classics (12)

    29.
A Silver Mt. Zion - He Has Left Us Alone but Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corner of Our Rooms... (47:06) (12)

    30.
Set Fire to Flames - Telegraphs In Negative/Mouths Trapped In Static [cd1] (12)
