In a short span of time, the band’s artistic work has already been displayed in Museums alongside legends like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Michael Jackson to name a few. Their first video for their remake of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” which was dubbed “Hey Ayatollah Leave Those Kids Alone” was named one of the top 100 most influential pop videos of all time and one of the first Youtube cover songs to go viral. They’ve won awards at major film festivals, received praise and coverage in major publications like The Independent, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and countless others, and even received the backing and support of Pink Floyd founder and Rock legend Roger Waters.

In 2012, Blurred Vision became official ambassadors of NYC based charity Whyhunger. Joining international artists and music legends Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Carlos Santana, Blurred Vision have thrown their weight behind the efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty around the world. Alongside Whyhunger, Blurred Vision have also been outspoken advocates for human rights and have worked with Amnesty International since 2010 on campaigns to spread awareness about human rights violations and prisoners of conscience.

Sepp and Sohl Osley were born in Iran and left for Canada with their family at a very young age in the late 80’s. They left behind a country caught in the grips of war and extreme oppression. It was this background that brought them ever closer to bands and songwriters like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, The Clash and others who wrote about the tough social and political landscapes of their generation. Canada was the perfect base for the young brothers to grow and mold their craft as songwriters and musicians.

Keyboardist Joel Lightman moved over to Toronto in 2007 from London, England to find a new band to pursue his ambitions with and within a short time of playing and learning about one another’s global goals, they knew they were on to something special.

Drummer Ben Riley(whose late father Doug Riley is a legend in his own right having spanned a career performing, producing and writing with the likes of Ray Charles, Bob Seger and Ringo Starr to name a few) met Sepp, Sohl, and Joel in 2010 with the encouragement of producer Terry Brown. They went into a rehearsal space in Toronto to jam some material and quickly realised the band they had been searching for had finally come together. They quickly began rehearsals and pre-production with the multi platinum selling veteran producer and in 2011 began their work on their debut EP and full length album.

The group describe themselves more as family than band mates. It is this bond and closeness amongst the members that resonates so deeply through the songs they perform together. With Terry Brown taking the band under his wing, the music of this budding mega band was solidified and ready for fans and music lovers around the world to get behind.

Blurred Vision’s debut EP ‘Democracy’ is available now on iTunes, Amazon, and all other major online stores. The band finished 2012 with their first headline tour of the UK in late November thru December to promote the release of the EP. The tour was met with a phenomenal reception by fans and critics alike.

2013 promises to be the big break out year for the band with the release of their full length debut album “Organized Insanity”, and a major tour of the US and UK to follow.

Once you dive into the ethos of this band, it becomes evident that they know exactly why they are doing what they’re doing. The drive propelling the group forward is one of global ambitions, and allowing their unique music and ability as songwriters to be the messenger of their vision to unite and influence a new generation of fans around the world.
